Arrivederci a Lucca
Me ne vado a Lucca. E’ ufficiale.
Ieri speravo di mettere una nuova vignetta, ma sono stato assorbito da altri progetti e non ho fatto in tempo. Ora devo affrettarmi a fare la borsa e partire per Lucca, così magari arrivo per cena dalla mia sorellona, che mi ospiterà fino a lunedì.
Per chi non può fare a meno dell’Orso Ciccione fino a martedì, ricordo che alla fiera di Lucca sarà in vendita il fantasmagorico annuario di Nuvole Elettriche, che comprende anche molte mie strip inedite… nonostante questo vi assicuro che è bello, quindi compratelo.
L’appuntamento, come ricordavo giorni fa, è allo stand E104 di Shockdom in Piazza Napoleone. Vi aspettiamo numerosi.

Cross Over: Fatty Bear meet the Rat Creatures
* Lascialo andare! Ho trovato qualcosa di meglio per la cena!
Today the strip is a tribute to Jeff Smith and his characters, Bone and the Rat Creatures, which are some of my favorites. In the past days at the “Lucca Comics & Games” expo there was a conference of him and I had the chance to meet the Master and gave him the number zero (the first and the only one) of “Neko & Kuma”, the series from which the Fatty Bear come from. I hope Jeff will take a look to my blog sooner or later, because I’d like to make him smile, like he made with me with his characters for a long time.
In these days I’m working to complete the translations of all the strips in the blog, so people from all around the world (exaggerated!) can read them.
La strip di oggi è un tributo a Jeff Smith e ai suoi personaggi, Bone e i rattodonti, che sono tra i miei preferiti. Nei giorni scorsi, alla mostra di Lucca c’è stata una sua conferenza e ho avuto l’occasione di incontrare il Maestro e regalargli il numero zero (primo e unico) di “Neko & Kuma”, la serie da cui è tratto l’Orso Ciccione. Spero che Jeff darà un’occhiata al mio blog prima o poi, perché mi piacerebbe regalargli un sorriso, come lui ha fatto con me per molti anni grazie ai suoi personaggi.
In questi giorni sto dandomi da fare per completare le traduzioni di tutte le strip del blog, così che le persone da tutto il mondo (esagerato!) le possano leggere.

Marco Columbro ad oltranza!
L’Orso Ciccione, tanto per cambiare, non si è fatto sfuggire l’ennesima occasione per realizzare una vignetta a quattro mani. L’iniziativa è di Lario3, che preso dalla fissa per Marco Columbro e la sua celebre frase “E ma allora ditelo!” ha invitato tutti a contribuire.
As usually, the Fatty Bear has found another chance to realize a cross-over. The initiative comes from Lario3, who is obsessed in this days by Marco Columbro and his famous phrase and invites anyone to contribute.

Mario Merola
Kaneda mi ha fatto notare, con un commento alla vignetta di oggi, come il mio stonatissimo canto “‘O sole mio” sembri un omaggio a Mario Merola, il re della sceneggiata napoletana, scomparso ieri sera. In realtà, la vignetta mi girava in testa da tempo e comunque solo stamattina ho saputo la notizia, quindi si tratta di una mera coincidenza.
Pur non essendo certamente un suo fan, sono comunque onorato di dedicare al grande Mario Merola la mia vignetta, che domani avrà anche un seguito, anche quello già pensato da tempo.
Kaneda suggested me, with today strip’s comment, that my out-of-tune “‘O sole mio” seems a tribute to Mario Merola, the king of Neapolitan melodrama, dead yesterday night. To tell the truth, I was already planned the strip and however I heard the news only this morning, so it is a pure coincidence.
I was not a big fan of him, but I feel honoured to dedicate to big Mario my strip, which will also continue tomorrow, as already planned as well.

Combinazioni inquietanti
Rileggendo la vignetta, devo ammettere che sembra davvero un omaggio a Merola, con l’orso ciccione che canta in napoletano (anche se nel caso avrei scelto una canzone più adatta) e che poi *click* viene spento lasciando l’ultima vignetta nel silenzio. Se avessi voluto fare davvero un omaggio non avrei potuto pensare a niente di meglio.
Invece la vignetta girava nella mia testa già da un mese e l’ho disegnata e postata oggi perché non avevo altro. A volte la vita e la morte giocano con noi e fanno capitare queste combinazioni inquietanti.
I read my strip again, and I have to say it really seems a tribute to Merola, with the Fatty Bear singing “‘O sole mio” (even if I could choose another song) and then *click* he’s turned off leaving the last one with no words. If I wanted to make a tribute, I was not able to think something better.
The strip sateyed in my mind for a while month and I decided to draw and post it today just because I didn’t have anything else. Sometimes life and death play with us and create these disturbing coincidence.
